I'm wondering how the car studs would work. With the screws, you have the threads holding them in place. I don't understand how they wouldn't pop back into the tire, seeing as they don't have threads

Do you coat the inner tire with silicone or something like that? Or do you go goop-free and just line with an innertube or something similar?

That's interesting. Well, I'm sure that those car studs would be muuuuuch better on pavement than my uneven roly-polies.. Thanks for the info, budskee

nice work
This is what they use for ice racing with dirt bikes ect.http://www.magicracing.com/Kold-Kutt...p_68-1076.html they are sharp cupped heads made of hardened steel. They go from outside in. Probably too long though even with a tire for a liner. this is a nice tire but lotsa money http://phattire1.stores.yahoo.net/scicespmtbti.html |
Yeah I'd like to invest in a pair of those tires one day. Save those for the pavement, then ride the more aggressive studs when going on trails in the snow. that'd be cool!

And after all of that trouble it would have been easier to just get the Nokians.

Still, something to keep his hands from goin' crazy.

Yeah. But I'd rather put $140-$160 towards a car, not bike tires, so I'm pumped.

That 140-160 dollars is most likely a one time only purchase, which is a good investment. I'm due for a new set of studded tires(8 years old.) and I'm not about to go and ruin a normal tire that is in perfectly good condition either.

What I found out about mine is that I don't have to let walkers know when I'm passing them, or worry about them not knowing I am passing them as I zip by. They are so damn loud that everyone can hear me from 20 feet away, LOL! Refreshing. I do wanna sink in some money to nokians in the coming years though. It'd be nice to have a set that AREN'T so noisy, but more importantly, resist less to rolling! Although surprisingly, I don't notice much in terms of being slowed down with mine, but that's probably because I'm an athletic superstar. ;) |
