I met this girl when I was riding at Hagg Lake in Oregon. She was experiencing her first mountain bike ride (very technical trail with clipless), and she was all torn up on one knee. I thought that was quite a turn-on. She was very attractive, but unfortunately I never got a chance to get to know her any better coz I had to take my friend back to camp coz he couldn't make it ... too much out of shape. She was originally a roadie, apparently. I wish I at least knew what her name was.

ok, on the topic of "hot mountain bike chicks"... i just have to tell me newest dream story... (yes, this is happening to ME - awesome)
my new girlfriend i met 3 weeks ago while guiding my 9-day TransAlp MTB tour (that means riding high passes across the Alps). she was the "intern" guide-in-training... she's super fit and this fall will be completing her MTB Guide training too. note: she signed up for that _before_ we really met, so that says how much she likes to ride!
we just click so well - plus she's super hot, super fit, rides as much as i do, rides road and mountain bike... and rides almost as fast as i do --- i have to wait maybe a little tiny bit, but less than i do for many of my male friends... she's not a true downhiller (yet), but she's willing to learn (i got her to wear some of my armour yesterday and try some more technical stuff and she asked me for some tips and we did some wheelie and balance practice)... on yesterday's ride (we spent the weekend in the mountains, Saturday rock climbing and Sunday mountain biking) at the end of our 80km (50 mile) and 2100 meters vertical (6900ft) MTB tour we blasted the way back on the road and i was pulling as hard as i could. she stayed in my draft the whole time and we passed some roadies and a bunch of mountain bikers... and no one else could stay on to my draft... ah cool!
fortunately she seems to think the same of me so it is just awesome... don't have a photo here at work, but in my book she is beyond hot! had been thinking of moving back to the US, but now i have another good reason to stay here for a while...
and i didn't have to do anything to meet her other than ride my bike - she saw me at our MTB club meetings last fall and thought i was cute... then saw me on a few rides and half the reason she signed up as "intern" for TransAlp was to get to know me... ah cool!
P.S. being a MTB Guide is good for meeting chicks - not the reason i did it though, but great side benefit. they join my rides or sign up for my tours b/c they think i am cute... i have a reason to talk to mountain biking chicks i see "hey, i lead a weekly ride - you should join us next week..." - i can offer technical training... i get emails from our website from girls wanting to ride... actually Alex gives me crap for all the girls "hitting" on me through our club (she claims it happens more than i realize, but what do i know?)... 4 months ago i met another super hot and cool MTB chick through my guiding - she just found our info on the web and emailed me and then showed up for my weekly Wednesday night ride - and wow fit. then she joined us for one of our big MTB trips to Lake Garda (4 days riding and sleeping in VW bus + some rock climbing)... anyway, she ended up with one of my best friends instead of me as they were more similar (vegetarian, alternative, etc) and he's one happy guy (the 2 of them just spent a week vacation rock climbing and MTBing in the Alps), but now i've met Alexandra... (oh did i mention the sex is like undescribable?)
there's still an exboyfriend "issue" - he decided he wanted to get back together a week after she and i started going out... but seems like it's going well for me - she just called as i was typing so i'm just enjoying and going with the flow...
anyhow... it _can_ happen... there are cool MTBing chicks out there (including my current i have had 4 serious mountain biking girlfriends - ?maybe? i won't need to meet any more?)

yeah, if she rides it should be easier to get talking to her and/or ask her out as you have something in common... tell her you're looking to explore new trails and ask where she usually rides and if she knows any good trails (maybe she'll invite to show you her favorite trails?)
yeah or like Bishop suggested - ask about her bike or something. even most shy people like to talk when it is about something they really like and/or are proud of and a bike is usually such a thing for a mountain biker!!

i have been riding with her a good amount of times this summer but her father is usualy there aswell (little group rides) . i dont even know if i fully like her yet. mainly becuase shes to quiet and thats kinda weird at times. but im quiet to so. but im also a avid skier (i ski more than anything) and SHE also skis and shes not bad at all, i invited her skiing once and she rips! but schools starting up here in a week or so and we go to the same school (only about 100 students at our school) so maybe somthing will happen then. latly she has been giving me the "im busy tomorrow" when i ask if she wants to ride, so maybe shes not into me? but i think she might be tied up for real so who knows. lol

Hmmm, my husband thinks all my cuts and scrapes are sexy too. He said it means I'm hard core. (Or I can't stay on my bike!)

nicky goodex has a website and so does Tara Lanes. Tara is cool because she answers emails. There's a bikergrl column where she answers questions from pro riders, Tara is in thre. She's pretty funny. I think there should be more chicks on bikes cause finding a gf who rides is imposible

Completely unrelated to the topic.....
You know, I couldn't find anyone (guy or girl) to mountain bike with when I was in Southern Indiana. It was a popular area for road biking, however. So after 5 years in the same town and no good prospects, I moved out West for a new change of pace.
I met my husband the first day I arrived in Utah. We worked at the same place. He saw the "new girl's" car parked out front with a mountain bike on it, and he thought, "I gotta meet this girl." Love at first bike.
If you want a gf to ride with, maybe you're not in the right place to meet her.

I was fortunate enough to find a girl who was actively into sports and doesn't like to be left behind.

my new girlfriend (serious mountainbiker - she just completed part 1 of her MTB Guide training with a 4-day course last weekend) continually makes comments (in an ok joking not jealous way) about all the mountain biker chicks SHE claims are always flirting with me or join my rides --- i'm a MTB Guide so in our club of a few hundred everyone knows who i am --- i still think she over-exagerates how many of them are flirting and how many just want to ride...
