2008 stumpjumper comp vs 2007 stumpy elite

I'm ready to send the old '01 Hardrock out to pasture and I've been looking at FSR's for way to long. Help me decide, please!

If I can get a 2008 stumpy comp or a 2007 stumpy elite for the same price (~$2000)...The '08 has the new rear end, but the elite has a little better components...Which would you recommend?

OR

Should I look for a used FSR in my price range with the brain (does the brain make that much difference)?

Thanks for any help!!

It's too easy.
As far as the bikes, I have no opinion.

If you can get an '08 comp for $2k.. buy it. My local shop wanted $2400 for it.
