Man it's so slow around here today, I got excited about another "what bike should I get thread"!
Have you test ridden any bikes? Most bikes in this price range are similar enough that fit and feel are the main issues. Scott make a great bike if that's what you want to hear. |

Like anything, It depends on what kind of abuse they take. If you take this bike dirt jumping, It probably wont last too long. If you mainly do xc riding it may last a long time. Acera rear deraileur is functional but not the most durable and the fork is a low end fork. But these are commonly spec'ed for a bike in this price range. When you test ride be sure and ride some bikes out of your price range also, just for comparison.

but thats the problem...i don t know what else to test!

Ride everthing they got! Take their wives for a spin, Get the keys to their cars and drive them too!
JK, Does this store carry other brands? |
yes! it has tons its evanscycles.com and they have a shop near us
|
Well if they have some Bianchi's and GT's and Gary Fishers, in that price range that should give a good comparison of different geometries. But really ride as many as you can.
