You might want to go SS for now just to get riding.

Argh.
After waiting for 7 weeks for a new derailleur hanger, it FINALLY comes in.. Spot the difference. (Piece of) the old hanger.. http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...e/IMG_6287.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...e/IMG_6288.jpg And the new hanger... http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...e/IMG_6290.jpg http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w...e/IMG_6291.jpg The fact that it's the wrong part is just a tiny bit annoying, and by a tiny bit I mean incredibly frustrating. You can order on line and have it within a week c cheap shipping. |

Whoever is taking care of you needs fired. Dude why did you wait 7 weeks anyways?

I checked on derailleurhanger.com or whatever that website is, and they don't have a category for Apollo, nor do they have one for Pacific (who make Apollo or something) so that was quite annoying. |
You're in a pickle, Luke.

I was never good at photoshop.

First my Apollo's derailleur hanger breaks, then the brake pads on my (older) Trek 870 wear right down to metal, and today BOTH of my step-dad's tires get punctured, and one of his QR skewers breaks! |
Ebay has been good to me. I got my Thomson post the other day and my Time pedals came today. I swapped saddles with the Girlscout, I gave him my Specialized saddle for his Stinky and put his WTB PureV on my HT.I Love WTB saddles. Now I just gotta keep my eyes open for some hydros for the HT and I'm set.
Edit..... On a side note. Hambone was introduced the world of gravity sleds yestarday. After the Girlscout pedaled the Stinky up to Longbranch trail, he let Hambone ride the final decent back to the parking lot(about 1 1/2 miles). Hambone was behind me, I could hear him saying..."I'm in love". He really liked the Hydros with big rotors and how stable the bike was on the big meat tires and lots of travel. He was diggin it. |

I'm shopping for skis. Anyone have any advice for an advanced intermediate skier? I am looking for on piste skis, not really looking for any back-country stuff.
|
One really fat ski that you stand on crooked would be my suggestion.

^^ I must be twisted. My first experience on a downhill ski slope was on a board. If I took up that bit of winterness I'd be hard-pressed to choose. Boarding was pretty fun.

Hey guys, this forum has always been a huge help. Im looking to upgrade my rims, well at least my rear rim as I have somewhat warped the rear stock rim on my '09 rock hopper and broken a few spokes. Its currently in the shop and the mechanic is saying that the wheel will be stronger after its rebuilt by hand vs the stock machine build. That makes sense to me but
I was considering buying a stronger/beefier rim as, Ive trued my wheel about 4 or 5 times before the spokes broke. Ive been looking at rims and wheel sets, im a bit confused. Are spokes universal? Are their xc spokes? Dh spokes? Free ride? From what I understand most of the wheel stregth comes from the number of sopkes and then the quality of the rim. Not so much the spoke quality? Please correct me if Im wrong. I ride XC with the occasional bit of rough stuff,(no more than 3 foot drop to flat, rock gardens etc.). Im 225 and Im not a very smooth rider. What Im looking for are reccomendations on what to put money into to upgrade. Appreciate it |
DT spokes are good. There are many different brands, styles, and guages of spokes though.
I'm using a double butted DT Competition spoke with mine. Makes sure they build them with brass nipples though. |

Hahahaha, neener, neener.

I have had 5 good days or riding..............I'm a happy camper.
|
Getting my new hanger tomorrow.
Definitely the right one this time. |
Rode for the first time today. It was a mix of mud and frozen slush segments. Some parts were atleast 2 inches of mud deep. My back brake stopped working on the way back and my front was just barely. There was this black rubbery like stuff on it, kinda like the brake was so hot, the pads melted... The pins on the pedals had frozen mud on them, so my pedals were slippery as ice. What is a good place to buy pedals online, and ships to Canada?
And btw Scrublover, if you are willing to buy online, backcountry.com has some great deals right now. Go there, and find some all mountain skis in your budget. They also have a live chat with "ski pros" that will talk to you about what you want. Pretty good service. If you're interested in the park, twin tips would suit you, I think. But if you plan to stay on the groomers, skis with just a raised tip will be fine. |
I'm off to Sycamore Cycles to let them have a look at my Enduro frame.........small crack.....
|
Warantee replacement?
|
Nope, the frame is a SX prototype. Raced for season by a friend so no dice. It's a tiny little crack in a strange place. We looked it over good at the shop and I'm gonna ride it and just keep an eye on it while I'm shopping for a new frame. It's not gonna cause any type of major failure.I'll put up a pic later.
|
What kinda frame ya looking for?
