Very nice! I'd been wondering how it went. I was almost was late for a group ride event Sunday'cause I was watching a Supercross from Jacksonville - - thought about you out roosting it up.
So . . . how'd it go?

vassup!
what have i missed in the last 9 months? has dminor had a hip reconstruction or anything yet?
BF-MTB's poster boy for cool (me) moved from perth, western australia to brisbane, queensland, australia. big move but hopefully it will pay off for my chosen career prospects.i turned 18 which is also cool (Legal age of adulthood here in aus so wish me a happy birthday schmucks. i beter have mssed a happy birthdy thread from '66 or dminor or someone!).
both my bikes got stolen. AGAIN. bout 2 weeks before the move which was a blessing in disguise because i hd to move from one side of the country to the other with nothing but 23kg (45 pounds?) of airline baggage and they wouldve been a big excess fee.
Pardon ny horribe speling and grmmar - i hv e to use one of those roll up silicone keyboards as the one on my laptop suffered from "Coke and crumb-itis". Its terminal.
TBH not really looking at getting another bike for a longgggggg time. I just plain cant afford it.
Been missing bf.net, but my neighbours wi-fi is faster and more reliable now, so thats good.
peace gangstas. From the exact other side of the country to where i uedto post from!

Jonesing for a ride big time. Three straight says of HEAVY rain. Looks like about my fifth road ride in three years today.
Can you say BORING??? Still it's riding, hoping I can get into it, used to like road riding way back when.

Victim I would love if it was only 3 days of rain. We had a freak winter here in Texas the trails where I live closed in Oct because of the rain and have only opened up for 12 days total from Oct until now and it is supposed to storm again Friday to shut them back down.
Off to the LBS to pick up some longer chain ring bolts to put my bash on and to grab a crank arm puller to put on my chain guide. At least I've gotten a lot done with out being able to ride the trails.

Trails are pretty bad but by the weekend should be much better. Also bought an epi-pen to keep in my Camelbak, not going to tempt fate again this year.

I got a 13 mile trail ride in after work yesterday. Trail had a few creek crossings that are normally dry but it was a great ride and the first time I've ridden the entire trail without getting lost (finally put up signs) and never had to hike a bike so all the time spent in the gym has helped me on my hill climbs at least. I need to play with the air in my tires a bit, on some of the climbs I would spin out quite a bit which made them a struggle but I was able to keep movement.

I got my rear elixer R today.. it's nice. Finally a set of hydros, not just a front. When I got home I realized the rear wheel is deathly out of true (no idea how this happened). Back on topic, the rotor is a little out of true. Per wheel rotation there are four "beeps" when you can hear the pads hitting the disc. How do you true these things? The rotor not the wheel.
Summary: How does one true a disc rotor?

Any idea why the shimano discs say resin only? I have a centerlock rear wheel with that on it and i'm using it with my avid brake/metallic pads till the adapter gets here.

Not a huge issue. The metallic compound will just make a bit more noise, and chew through the rotor a bit more. But yeah, not a big deal.

Oh god xD.
I just was dicking around and practicing getting the back wheel up curbs without slamming it into them, when I accidentally unclipped both feet and nearly went OTB.
funfunfun

So I am going to race the Hardcore 24, 24 hour race, in NY this summer. I want to kick my own ass and have a good (questionable) time. Got two others out of the four we need, so only one to go! Should be fun. Anyone here done a 24 hour race?

Yeah. It's something everyone should do. I don't know if I would do another. That 3:30am lap I did was terrible.

I've never raced mountain before, don't plan to after. I want a one time thing, and only a 24 hour. I have raced cross, plan to road.
Do you know if I can use a one day pass for it? I don't want a mountain license.

As long as you run Cat2 or under, a one-day will do fine. You just have to have an annual mtn. license to race Cat 1 or pro.

Okay great. I'm not even sure if you need one for this kinda race - it says no norba license required but does not say that one day licenses are available? Either way, it's gonna be a long 4 months. Lots of pics to come when it happens.
