I stuck a juicy 7 lever into my thigh like that back in august. It only went in an inch but yeah whatch out those things will getcha.
Hi guys! Remember my sick silver Viento? yeah it got stolen but I found it just this week! I had a little roadblock to recovering it thanks to some inattentive mods another forum but i went crying to Chelboed and he fixed that right up.
I'll get to put my stuff back together soon and i'll throw the new build in the rigs thread.
Hi fives all around.

Anyone have any idea about the ol' RockShox Duke forks? I might be getting a Duke U-Turn. It says "All Mountain" up the side, but I can only find XC forks when I use the google machine. Same sh*t?
I found the users manual in the archives of the SRAM site, but just looking for opinions of people who've used them.
It's going on my NRS, and I do mainly XC riding. Travel can be adjusted from 63-108mm.

This just sucks, cause im out for the rest of the soccer season... only got to play the first two games...
and now since I'm out, I lost my chance to go to the European Championship. (Think of it as nationals back in the U.S) All the D.o.D schools over here play against each other..
AND I can't bike for a while.
And I can't run, which is hurting because I have a Physical Training test for AF ROTC when I get to college, and if I don't pass with a high enough score, bye bye scholarship.

Sorry to hear you're laid up, RR. Just be good to that ankle, do everything the doc tells you and do your PT afterward religiously. Work on your upper body, do leg curls and any muscle groups that don't require stressing the ankle. Keep positive - - you should be fully knitted in time to get trained back up for that test. Good luck.

So I got (for the second time) asked to work at a local bike shop. For those who don't know, I work at another local shop. I'm terrified and really feel un-adult like now. There's a lot of reasons to move there, but I'm just really scared.
Pros:
-better pay - good for stuff obviously and for college september 2011
-I like that shop a lot
-closer
-better pay
-top rated store - top 100 in country (don't know what place though)
-better pay
Cons:
-Learned everything I know where I am now, like boss, but scared his temper might flare up. There's only a few people at my current shop, and I don't know.
Advice?

He'll get over it or he won't. If he won't - - especially to the point of making you fear a temper outburst - - he's not the sort of person you should be working for any longer than you have to. It sounds like the other shop has so many positives going for it that you would be doing yourself a disservice to pass up the opportunity. That maybe should be your overriding consideration in weighing a switch.
Keep it in perspective of going to school. As I told my kids when they were in college: college student is your number one and primary 'job' right now. That is what is most going to shape the rest of your life. EVERYTHING you do should complement that mission and goal. Decide which one of those shop jobs best supports that goal and come down on the side of that. If that means leaving your current boss and he cannot accept it from that standpoint that is his problem and definitely not yours.

^ +1 sounds like a better deal to me. You may have learned everything at the other shop but now you will learn even more at a new one.

Yeah, I know all the guys at the new one. I'm going to go for it. I don't necessarily have the job, but I am a long time customer (still buy food there to support them while working at the other shop), know everyone, and was recommended by both the wheel builder and a salesman/mechanic. The manager happily printed out an application for me. I think that sounds good.
Having a year of experience helps too.
