I hear that the Germans have the best thing going as far as the so-called "Automated Manuals" go.

The way I understand it, both the EVO and the GTR use tranys similar to the DSG found in VW owned companies' cars, which are manuals being shifted by a computer (the way I understand it).

Edit: https://gtrusa.blogspot.com/2007/12/h...ion-works.html

The way some SCCA Rallycross guys explained it to me, was that DSGs are Automated Manuals. Then again, non of them had a car with a DSG in it, so I dont know.

Edit edit: Yay for the Audi Quattro S1, the car that started it all (If you know your rally roots, you should know what I'm getting at).

Edit edit edit: Now I'm getting a bit off topic but: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHH-726_8lA

Matter as well spill it, you probably won't see as much of me anymore. The new bike is a 2nd fixed gear, and will likely be parting out the mtb.

So will we just have D as a Mod now?

Has anyone read the Pisgah artical in Bike magazine? I found it amusing.

About the two weekend warriors that carried in all there gear? no I haven't. A friend was telling me about it yesterday on the trail, but then she fell and fractured her radius. I never heard the rest of the story.
Was it good?

I may keep the mtb, but riding it has gotten almost to the point of routine, and there is just nothing there to keep me interested anymore. So maybe I should say it's a indefinite hiatus from a mountain bike.

OK I just read it, It was funny! Three guy's not two, huh? I really liked this part

Bike magazine:We lounge in a shallow bend in the river next to our campsite, sip cold cans of Coors, and figure out the math for the day.
Thirty miles, omly 7 of which are downhill, with a total elevation gain of
around 3500 feet. High on our first days accomplishment, we discuss the various superpowers we'd like to have.Jeremiah and I choose Invisibility for Obvious and obscene reasons, and Jeff say's he'd like the ability to give people titty twisters from across the room because, and I quote
"You could stop all kinds of crime with that sort of power"
