Fork Upgrade from Tora 302

I am looking to upgrade my Tora 302 off my Rockhopper. I want to shave some weight and gain some plushness. I test rode an 08 FSR Stumpy with the FOX vanilla on it and absolutely loved how soft the front fork was. I am probably going to buy something a year or two old, and I don't want to spend more than about $300. Please tell me what you recommend and why.

A used fox sounds like a great idea. Just check it out before you buy.
