'07 Cannondale F4

I have the opportunity to pick one up for pretty cheap... ~$750 was what i was quoted...might be able to go a bit lower.

It's full Sram X-7 w/ BB5's and Sun Black Eyes...also that nifty headshock...If I get it i'm going to be switching some things over from my other MTB (mainly the wheels...WTB Speed-discs w/ AM Classic hubs).

It's in the Raw aluminum color that they released in the middle of the model year b/c the white and brown ones weren't selling as well as they'd hoped...

couldn't find a pic of one online, but the '08 looks similar (although the '07 has better specs)

So does this sound like a good deal? What are people's thoughts on the headshock?

I have an 06 F600. I love the Supper Fatty Ultra DLR headshock when riding XC, I hate having to take it to a dealer for service. All in all a great cross country machine.

How often does it need serviced? and what is it about the unit that necessitates taking it to the shop as opposed to just doing it yourself?

I have an '01ish F700 and love it too. I have yet to have to take it to the bike shop to get it serviced. I asked about it though. They said: "if you're not having problems with it, I wouldn't take it apart". Since I wasn't having problems, it never went in.

cool...how does the headshock ride? smooth? I haven't had a chance to take it on a proper test-ride yet (awful weather as of late)

Although proprietary, the headshock will perform quite well, and has proven very durable!
