Next we'll argue the credibility of the XTR's digital bluetooth signal as compared to XO's High frequency RF signal.

In some ways it makes more sense than the Shimano Airlines constant-loss system. Although I would think some sort of multi-position solenoid (if that's possible) would be better/lighter than a motor setup. I could really see it being the schizz for shifting a gearbox - - with a little wireless shifter pod :)

Could you just see the fun some hacker could have with a trackside transceiver?

Mavic came out with that in the mid to late 80's.. its nothing new.

edit.. early '90's, either way.. nothing new.

Ha reminds me of the old CB radio days, we would clip the mod limiters, turn down the key wattage and get those am boxes spewing harmonics and spurrious emissions. Then stick about a thousand watt amp behind 'em. The poor kids in the neighborhood were wondering why their RC cars kept running into walls.
Could even open automatic doors at buisnesses!:D

Ah, the CB radio days; our first telephone 'system' on our property was a CB hooked to a regulated power supply - - so I could call my neighbor who had a phone.
