Patience is definitely a virtue. Ive been looking at the Scirocco since 06 but because of college I stopped riding. Now that Im back in action, I want to get a great frame that will last me for several years. Jay from Banshee was a huge help in deciding between the Scirocco or the Viento. I was very pleased to be able to talk to the vendor and even more pleased with the information that he provided.

Pics to come after the build.

So then which tob tube measurement is correct? 23" and 21.75" is a huge difference.

WTF?! Gah! Eh, thats just were its welded.

"The bikes are made to Banshee’s specifications but the frames are welded/machined at Pacific. "

I'll still rock it out.

[peeks back over to Cove HandJob]

Theoretical top tube is the measurement of an imaginary line parallel with the ground, not sloped, and measured from the center of the head tube (where the top tube intersects) to the center of the seat tube(or seat post). Bikes with a sloped top tube often give a "theoretical" or "effective" TT length in their specs.

Along with Canfield, Orbea, and Astrix, to name a few.

An investigation into the corporate structure of the two Pacifics should allay any concerns you may have.

Oh yeah, fyi every Banshee I've seen has a seatpost included.

I think we are confusing Pacific Cycle (a division of Dorel Industries of Montreal, which now owns Cannondale) which has Schwinn, Pacific, GT, etc. - - With Pacific Cycles Inc. of Taiwan, which manufactures (as gastro mentioned) Astrix, Banshee, Canfield, etc.

Banshee, as a brand, while manufactured over there (what isn't?) is owned by PCT Innovations of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and is co-owned by Pippin Osborne who also started Syncros.

troie 03-27-08 06:13 PM

Good to know. Now help me decide between the Cove HandJob and the Viento...
