What's wrong with big brands? Big companies like Trek, Specialized and Giant show a lot of innovation, and offer great bikes at competitive prices. To exclude them from your bike search would be foolish.

And Santa Cruz is small.... ish.

There is nothing wrong with them and I have checked them out at a few of the LBSs by me. They would ride great and come well equipped, but they just don't make me feel all tight in the pants. Still very nice bikes though. This build is going to take me months to pay for, so I might as well LOVE it.

And yea, I am down with Santa Cruz.

Like it's Thanksgiving day.

I've known the names Trek, Giant, Schwinn, Specialized my entire life, but didn't know any of those other companies until about 2 years ago. I like the strange and unknown.

Doesn't Specialized own Santa Cruz?

Just whatever you do, DO NOT get a cheap Kona.

I has a bike!

http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...7/DSC00395.jpg

Just about finished. Needs pedals, decals and the rear derailleur tuned (I can't get it right, I must be dumb).

I put some pedals on from another bike and took it for a spin. WOW! It handles so differently than anything I am used to. Going from an old school rigid bike to this is crazy. I think I might need a little longer stem though. Cockpit seems a bit short for my knees. As soon as I am done, I will be looking for the closest set of stairs to throw myself off of.

Very nice.

Terrapin Ben 04-29-08 09:49 PM

pretty sick looking ride!

Glynis27 04-30-08 12:10 PM

Thanks guys! I am going to take it to the LBS tonight and have them adjust the RD for me. I just can't get it right and it makes me feel like an idiot, and now I need to pull the shift trigger backwards after I shift because it sticks down. I am tired of working on it and just want to ride. I am still waiting for my shock pump to show up in the mail too so I can adjust this fork to where I want it. Hopefully I can handle that without help.
