Another sram v shimano thread
A friend of mine recently got a new carbon scalpel and wants to swap some parts out. I have a scalpel as well but mine is a bit older. I have Deore XT hydro discs and dual control levers with an xtr front and rear derailluer. I have been curious about SRAM X-9 stuff for my RD. I really like how punchy and quick it feels. Should I buy an X-9 RD and trigger shifters as well as his juicy carbon brakes and levers and swap out some of my Shimano stuff. He also has a Fizik Aliante/ carbon controltech saddle/seatpost combo that he might part with I currently have a thomson elite with a nisene saddle. Thoughts?

Seriously, anyone? I could be getting a great deal on some new parts because my friend is a shop mechanic. Just looking for a little feedback.

Keep the Thompson.
X.9 stuff is nice. I prefer XT, but I'm not too popular b/c of it. Juicy's are the bomb. Easy to set up / maintain. Very powerful stoppers.

Yeah I am considering the seat and saddle combo to suck up a little more of the vibrations. Also I am not a heavy guy (150lbs) so the carbon doesn't worry me. My friend is going to give me a price list today.

I suppose my question was whether this would be a worthy upgrade quality-wise. Is that to say an X-9 rear derailluer is equivalent in quality to an XTR? Are the juicy carbons better or more responsive than the XT's? I know this is ultimately a preference issue but I am looking for peoples' experiences with these products.

i like sram better and the zero travel loss stuff makes a really good fealing clicker. I also love my juicy brakes, although i don't have the carbons...
oh also i woudl say its way better than the stupid dual control, vs shimano rapid fire you can make a case, but vs dual control i would say no contest, w/e i hate on dual control (and shimano) thats what all the cool kids do rite?

I write poorly all of the time on here just so I can try to fit in better. I failed miserably at PinkBike and MTBR - - could not get that bad.
