Wisconsin Freeride Pics

Here are some freeride pics from today. In true Wisconsin fashion it was snowing in the morning while I rode the cross country loop. Then I shot these of the crazies freeriding.

The trails are at Nordic Mountain in Mt. Morris, a ski hill near Wautoma. 40 minutes west of Oshkosh. Where are you at Frunkin? Yesterday's event was organized by Riven Downhill. They had lift service for $20 from 12-5. Nordic is also the site of the Subaru Cup WORS race June 14 and 15. There will be a downhill component that weekend in addition to the short track, super D and the usual cross country race. Check https://stagerace.wors.org/about/

I mean crazy in the best possible sense. I stood at the end of the tall dropoff that dropped about 8 feet into the woods. Too high for me. Maybe if I had a high suspension bike and armor instead of my 28 pound XC bike and little helmet...NAH. Still don't think I'd do it.

Come on,expand your horizons. I bet they think a 28 pound XC bike and a 6 hour ride is scary.

Maybe I'll expand horizons a little bit at a time. I could get an all-mountain bike that weighs over 30 pounds and take some little ramps on.
