Post up pictures of MTB's with road tires,
I have seen a lot of talk but not one single good picture of a MTB with a road tire yet.

Apparently you've never seen bontrager hanks if you think mtb can't handle slicks...
Something I found off this forum.
I have 1.5 slicks on my mtb... I'll take a pic once I get my camera back from the gf...

I'm in a good mood and don't mind being laughed at today.
My wifes s/s commuter, mid 90's bike I guess, came with canti's. 2.0 IRC slicks
My daily fixed gear commuter/rain/winter/beater. Old late 80's Wheeler Pro 3000 mtb. 1.25 Nasbar slicks
My mtb with slicks. I have 2 wheel sets I flip on/off for road and trails.

2006 Trek Fuel EX 9.5
Vuelta Team SL ATB wheelset
Maxxis Holy Roller tires (urban assault/hardpack/freeride designated) 26"x2.2"
They're very smooth and fast for the size, with 55psi each and a 120lbs rider.
does that qualify as a road tire?

I don't get it. My road bike has road tires. Why would my mountain bike need them?

Some of us like to go off road on a whim, and cannot do that on a road bike. I rode my Giant Rainier from Colorado to Dallas (I-50, I-287)with 2" Forte VersaTracs on, and never had one issue. Great on the road, and they helped me in conditions where I would have had to get off my road bike and carry it through.

I for one live on a hardpacked dead-end dirt road, which transitions to asphault eventually.
The tires I use when I ride to the post office to get my mail, etc work wonderfully for that, and save me from eating the tread off of my nice knobby low pressure USB tires.. they also roll a lot faster with less resistance.
troll somewhere else.

I have Specialized Fat boys on my steel hard rock.
For times to rid eon the bike path with the gf, when I don't feel like wasting tread on my FSR-XC and yes, riding my Cervelo SLC at 15km/hr with the girl is over kill.
