New race bike build

Well as much as I hate to do it I have decided to get rid of my Chameleon frame. I love that bike but I think that I need a light hardtail race bike more than I need it. I have chosen to go with a 2004 Specialized S-works M5 annodized hardtail frame. According to Specialized the 18" is supposed to weigh in at 2.9 pounds. I'm not sure if that is the annodized weight or the painted weight though. The annodized is supposed to weigh an ounce or so less.

Anyway, here is the build I am planning. Most of this I already have.

Specialized S-works annodized frame
FSA Orbit extreme pro headset
thomson stem
easton straight carbon bar (have to buy)
Scott foam grips
xt shifters (indicators removed)
Race Face Signature XS bb
FSA Carbon pro crank with xt small ring and truvativ middle ring and aluminum bolts
egg beater pedals
thomson post
specialized body geometry pro saddle (some things are more important that weight)
XT front der
XT rear der w/aluminum breakaway bolt
XTR cassette
Sram PC 69 chain
Hugi 240 disc hubs
Mavic 317 rims
Continental exporer and escape tires w/ stans no tubes
Magura Marta SL disc brakes
White Brothers XC 1.0 fork (going to check to see if it can be changed to an 80 mm)

Well, I think thats it. Let me know what ya think.

I'd keep the Chameleon and train a bit harder to make up for the slight bit more weight!

Seriously, the M4 is a sweet frame, and your component spec if fine. Was curious about the foam grips. Do you find them more comfy or just a weight thing? Personally, I'd stick with regular grips (like your saddle).

I've never used the grips, I bought them a while back but I have never tried them. If I like them great, if not then I'll go back to my old favorite....Salsa Juego de Fuego's.

Oh yeah, talked to white brother's about my fork. Told me it would cost $200 - $300 to have it converted to 80 mm.
