Help ID My New bike

3 Attachment(s)
Just bought a used bike at a local bike shop down here in Tampa Bay, Florida. It appears to be an older model cannondale but I am wondering just exactly what model/ approx year the bike is, if the components are quality, and just general info about it (i can research it after I ID it) and how much it is probably worth (I hope I didn't over pay too much).

The bike was within my budget- I decided I couldn't deal with another X-Mart bike but could not afford a brand new Giant, Trek, Etc. etc. Shop also offered me free service plan and return if I want to. Took it for a test ride before I bought it. Its Green with a a Yellow Cannondale stamp and a yellow made in the usa stamp on the front. Suntour XC Power components (shifters?) Bontrager Comfort Tires, Araya Rims, Terra Nova seat. Pictures attached. Any help identifying make/model/value of bike will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Its a green cannondale mountain bike, late 80's (the date is probably in the serial #)..

Try Sheldon Brown's serial # decoder for older C'dales (may work on MTBs too?)
