new bike

I am looking to buy a new bike and there are way to many options out there. Any suggestions.
I haven’t ridden in almost 2 years, I just spent 15 months in Afghanistan so I have no budget, but I am also not looking to spend a fortune. I not a very experienced rider, I only rode for about 6 months in high school and loved it so I am looking to get back into the sport. I had a Giant HT not sure what model and I plan on sticking with the HT for now.
Looking for suggestions on a nice HT for easy to moderate riding. Thanks.

I have a Trek 3 series (3700) that I use for light casual riding and some light trails and it works fine. Frame is strong and haven't had to replace anything in 2 years. I will replace weaker components as they break. Maybe look into something along those lines if you are looking to save money. A 3900 or 3700 may work fine or a 4000 series if you are looking for a little bit better parts. I think retail on the new 3700 is under $350.

I ride the 3900, Ive broken almost everything on it.... twice. lol.
If you dont want something uber awesome, go with like a 4500 or something. Decent parts, and its worth upgrading.
the 3 series dont have disk mounts, thats my biggest complaint.

Titus Moto-lite....Titus just released a model that isn't over the top money wise and has decent spec. I have had one for two years and it has been absolutely perfect

I just recently bought a Giant XTC 2, as I am a beginner as well. It has served me well so far, it won't cost you a fortune either.

OP- Take in some advice here, then start hitting some bike shops. Check out and ride a bunch of 'em. After all that, the one for YOU? You'll know.

Check out the new 09' Specialized Hardrock series. They are really good looking bikes this year and they won't break the bank.
