Old Judy XC weight??
I'm looking into replacing my OLD 96-97 Rock Shox Judy XC. Does any one know what the weight on this fork is? I would like the new fork to be as close as possible(or lighter) in wieght than this one. I'm trying to lighten up the bike as I upgrade it. Thanks-------------Dave

is this the yellow one or the gold one? the yellow ones with alloy steerers are 3.2 or 3.4lbs i believe, could be wrong.

It doesn't really matter, the performance and quality in a new fork will make you wonder why you waited so long. I would stick with a fork with 80 to 100 mm of travel. Any more than that, and you'll mess up the handling of your older frame that isn't designed to handle longer travel suspension forks. Most newer forks will weigh about the same as your old fork, but will have a much better ride.

yeah most forks today will be heavier than that judy of yours. i think most are near the 4lb range rather than the 3lb range. some manitous i believe are right in that weight range... skarebs i think? the modern judys are incredibly heavy.

Not really, most of today' LONG travel forks are in the 4 lb range. If you stick with an 80 mm travel fork you'll find it in the same weight range as the older Judy, but with a lot more tuning options.
