Avid BB7 Discs @ Performance Bike-Bummed

I went ahead and bought a wheelset online today and have now set my sights on finding a good deal on the Avid BB7 Disc brakes(I've seen them priced anywhere from $80 a piece to $45). I have also found 2007, 2008, and 2009 BB7's all priced about the same.

I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on the 2008 BB7's at Perfomance Bike after having been pointed in their direction on here. With the coupon code, I'll have both for $84.98 + the shipping charges, which I think will run about $10 or $12. The thing is I also want to buy Flakjacket brake cables and Avid speed dial levers, but unfortunately Performance doesn't have these items listed on their site...at least not that I could find. I'd like to just go ahead and buy everything from one place and have one charge on my card.

Does anyone know of any other online shops that have either the 07, 08, or 09 BB7's at a reasonable price(with or w/out coupon code) where I can also buy the brake cables and speed dial levers all at once? I've tried Nashbar--they want like $60 a piece for the brakes, which is kinda high. On Ebay, they seem to want more too.

What's the difference between the 07's, 08's and 09's anyway? and why are they all the SAME price?

Pricepoint.com

I've seen them cheaper than that on eBay. Keep looking. For the $$$ your preparing to plunk down, you could get juicy 5's.

I found all the products I needed at Universal Cycle. Their prices online were kinda high IMO, but they offer 30 second price match 24/7, so I pricematched to the cheapest site I found, which was beyondbikes.com. I went with Universal Cycle b/c they had the 09 BB7's and the beyondbikes website did not specify which year the BB7's were, and I assumed that they're probably not the 09 version.

Anyway, I got front and rear BB7's in 160mm size, Avid Flak Jacket cables, and Avid speed dial levers for under $140(including shipping). All in all, I think I did alright. I can't wait till it all gets here and I can do the upgrades!

All in all:

Cannondale F6 w/ Rock Shox Dart 2(everything else stock)--$250
Avid BB7's, Flak Jacket cable, and Speed Dial Levers --$136
Sun Rhynolite Wheels and Deore Disc Hubs --$110

Grand Total: $496

I'd say not too bad for a great bike that I will love and still cheaper than the F5.

I've bought a few things from Treefort. Good prices. They are now on the list of places that I regularly price check if I'm shopping.

I found the 08 model on treefort for $52, but you might have to ask about how far the backorder is. The 07 is on pricepoint for $50

I actually got the 09's from Universal Cycle using their pricematch system for less than $50 each. Just checked out Treefort. They do have good prices, but I priced everything out and I still got everything for a buck less at Universal Cycle. I pricematched EVERYTHING I ordered though. Found prices on Beyond Bikes that were great, but didn't want to buy from them after reading a lot of bad reviews, so pricematched.

Worked out great and I'm satisfied with the price I paid for the BB7's, Cables, and Levers.

^^^ Good tool for those shopping best deal.

FWIW, I have had excellent service and prices from Jenson and Universal. Be wary with a few like Beyond who appear to have all this product, but can't deliver because they don't have actual stock in hand.

Jenson, for instance, drop ships a lot of stuff directly from QBP in Minneapolis. I believe that QBP is the largest USA parts wholesaler. Not sure exactly what Universal's setup is. But, like both Universal and Jenson, a good supplier will have stuff like inventory availability and order status on their websites.
