Raiyn: Trek / GF geometry doesn't feel right.

Now that is a statement I cannot argue with. I understand where you are coming from.

Also I was thinking of the Fuel 98 and 100 as top of the line, but, on second thought, that does not make sense, since few people care to own CF frames. My mistake there.

He rides it pretty hard... we got his old Fuel in at the shop when I worked in Waco and it looked like he puts it through its paces (platforms and all).

It just felt a lot more stable to me and nobody else had it back then, plus I like the beefier head tube on 'em. Also, one LBS used to carry more Treks, but now they're recommending Fishers more and more. A friend from work just ordered a Fisher(Marlin @ $500) cuz the guys at the shop told us the low/med end Treks aren't really even trailworthy and we're willing to put our faith in the LBS guy's opinions as long as they're not blowin' smoke--plus he really liked the look of the Fisher more. One of the guys at the shop's got a Cake and I gotta admit they look pretty trick. They used to sell Klein, too(my brother's got one), but I haven't seen any for awhile-did they die off or somethin'?

In my town one LBS has Trek, GF and custom bikes and the other carries Cannondale, Specialized, Giant and Raleigh. I don't really care what anybody rides as long as they don't get too worked up when their dept. store bike falls apart on 'em cuz they got off the sidewalk.

Too bad Trek owns Gary Fisher, and I believe Bontrager too.
