2 bunnyhop questions

When I was a teenager I did a lot of bmx riding and could bunnyhop fairly high (2 ft or so). I could do decent hops on my mountain bike but nothing great. So now that I've been off my bike for about 4 years I'm having to relearn all this stuff. I finally got it down tonight but can only hop about 6 inches right now. So....

1. Right now I weigh about 65 pounds more than I did when I was last riding. I know it is harder for me to do certain things because of the excess weight but would that make bunnyhopping a lot harder than it was for me in the past?

2. I have front suspension but not rear. It took a few tries but I seem to have the timing down pretty good for the front shock. In general is it easier to hop without shocks or is it just getting past the learning curve?

If you've got an actual hardtail bike, than the weight balance would make it harder than BMX. if it's a jumper, than it would be easier, with the bigger suspension.

bmxboard.

I can't hop for crap on my karate monkey, I can still hop a few feet on my bmx bike. Easier to monster truck over stuff, though.
