The LBS has two Trek 69er SS's on sale

One is a 19.5" Frame priced at 1249.99 and the other is a 17.5" priced at 999.99.

The 17.5" is my size and I really want the bike, but it does not come with the Maverick Fork ( The 19.5" Frame does ). It has a Rock Shox Reba. Is this a comparable fork? This is Wheel and Sprocket in hales Corners if anyone local is looking for this bike at a discounted price.

What are the MSRP's? 20% off is good, 25% off is better, 30% off is a great deal.

It's a great deal- the Reba is still a good fork. But you're right, it's no Maverick.

I'm pretty sure it retailed for just short of $2k.

Good fork, a little flexy. I assume the 08 version of the Reba. I'd say there's at keast a 250 dolar difference between those forks, though I haven't ridden the Maverik...

I would prefer a stiffer fork, I'm a bigger guy ( 6'0 215 ), will this dual chamber fork pumpd up to 160 psi be too soft for me? I'm assuming so, can't see buying a with a fork I can't use. Maybe they will switch out this fork with the maverick from the bigger bike?

They are claiming that the bike is priced half off at the 999 price. Is the Reba a strong enough fork for a heavy rider? Dual chamber at 160 psi should be decent, no? They switched the forks on the bikes and raised the prices and wont switch them back till they have a deposit so I can't test the fork out.

Otherwise, is there another SS bike that is comparable to this in the same price range? I don't need a 29" front wheel, just liked how the bike felt overall. There aren't very many aggressive trails in my area, at least that I know about anyways.

Check out Gary Fisher Rig's. If they have any 08's, it'd probably be at the same price range. The Rig comes with a Fox fork, which is really nice. I really dig the color scheme, too (creme and tan). It's a full on 29er, which at 6', you will like. I never thought much of 69ers.

You can also find Redline Monocog Flights for around $800 and add a front fork. I like the Flight's steel frame.
