There is a new one of you off road riding types...
Today I took my son, only 5 years old, out on the easy trails at Hunting Island State Park, SC, on his trailercycle (Adams Trail-A-Bike). We only rode about 5 miles, but about halfway through the ride, he needed a little break. During that break, he told me, " Daddy, this is a lot more funner then riding on the streets and sidewalks!"
What can you say to that?

kids are a great reminder of the fact that we are correct sometimes yet take it too seriously.its great to see a childs eyes light up doing something new and especially when it is something we enjoy.the simple trust and joy is way too cool for words(maybe if i was a kid id have better words to describe the joy)i love taking my kids and watching them do things they thought they could not do,especially when they were that age.as they grow it is still a great thing to do( even when they start to disassemble their bikes and you have to help reassemble/find bolts,tools,etc. on ground)

If he inherits the family mechaincal skills, he'll be fine when the time comes to fix bikes, cars, computers, airplanes, etc. as this is a family of mechanics. All of his male relatives, save one uncle who is a cop, is a mechanic of one sort or another, working on bicycles, motorcycles, cars, trucks, tractors, computers, and airplanes. As for breaking things, I try to take care of my equipment, I just hope he learns to save.
