Motorcycle Downhill Concept Bike

This is a pretty interesting concept bike. It is a motorcycle designed as a downhill bike using a small displacement engine. It uses a 100cc 4-stroke engine. It is called the Derbi DH 2.0.

It weighs in at 88lbs. That's much closer to a DH rig's weight than a motorcycle. The engine can be removed to turn it into a pure DH rig, although I don't see what kind of drivetrain takes over once the engine is removed. You can sort of make out some platform pedals that are pushed back. Maybe the crank arms can lock back in once the engine is removed.

I've seen that; cool concept. If I recall, Derbi's specialty is trials bikes; so they've got a handle on lightweight, strong builds. And let's not forget that the Monster T started life as a motorcycle trials fork.

Seat looks a lot like a couple of my homebuilt concepts.

I bet it costs more than a motorcycle and I bet a motocross bike would beat it down a hill.
