Iron Horse 5.5 vs Iron Horse 7.5

I am a roadie who is looking to do some XC.

Looking for a starter hardtail to ride in a local trail in my area. I was wondering if the 200 difference is worth it or if I am better of with the 5.5 and use the 200 dollars for upgrades later on.

Thank y ou.

Both have better parts than the other; the 5.5 has a nicer drivetrain while the 7.5 has a nicer wheelset and fork. they both have the same brakes, tires, seat, etc. the cockpits on the two are going to be similar. so...i might say get the cheaper one and find a closeout fork from a couple years ago.

Keep in mind though, the Recon is like a 350$ fork.

If both frames are the same I say save the 2 hundy and enjoy......Wheels & Fork may not be as nice but not junk either....use the money for shoes/helmet/shorts.....:thumb:
