Good Trails in St. George UT area

I'm going to be in St. George over Thanksgiving and was wondering if I should bring my mt bike or, just the road bike.

Are there any good trails in the area, if so where and how do you get there. I will be staying in Santa Clara.

Thanks,

.Definitely bring your MTB, tho road is decent there, too, but The St. George area is all about mountain biking as far as I'm concerned. Top of my list would be Gooseberry Mesa up towrd Zion- on the way there you could stop at Over the Edge Sports in Hurricane and get more recommendos on MTB rides. Over The Edge is a great shop out of Fruita, Colorado, and bought out Shuntavi bikes there in Hurricane. Bearclaw Poppy is another classic trail I've heard of but have not ridden.

Leave the road bike at home and hit the trails!

Last time I visited the area Doug Wilson (original Shuntavi guy in La Verkin) and his crew took us out on a local ride, the Guacamole Trail. Lots of fun, super guys. We also rode Hurricane Rim/J.E.M. near there plus the usual culprit Gooseberry Mesa. That's all we got a chance to do, but there's plenty around there.

OK. I will leave the road bike home. and check out the Goosberry. There have been several people where I work that love that trail as well.

Thanks for the help.

Oh, wait, that number was from a couple years ago. It's up to 55,000 posts now.
