i kinda have an idea of what i want...

i ride mostly xc, but don't want to hesitate to jump off something (usually small). so i guess im looking for a beefier hardtail? ive been riding for a few years on an ibex dual suspension but as i got more into riding the past year i broke a bunch of parts. im looking for something that can handle being ridden hard a few days a week without breaking the bank. the gary fisher site told me i needed something at least $2500...

ive been looking at the specialized all mountain p series, kona cindercone and caldera, and a few bikes direct option like the motobecane fantom elite. anything else i should consider in that price range?

on the old bike

How big is the stuff you jump off of? Because i'm not afraid to hit 3' drops on my 24lb. 3.5" travel FS rig. It's all about style.
