Let us know how great it works out for you when you don't pack a chain tool because your saddle bag doesn't have enough room and don't have a spare quick link and when you break a chain you are forced to walk back to the car/home and your little 2 hour ride becomes a 4 hour excursion. Or when you have more than 1 flat on a ride, forcing you to walk yet again.

They're cable guides.

What's stupid is caring what someone else does or doesn't do - on the bike or off.

LMAO, Ah come on guys and dolls, was just trying to have some fun with that comment. Honestly, when I first started to wear one I hated it, the thought of that thing on my back drove me nuts. Now I don't ride with out it. I do use my cage for glucose drinks when its hot.

real MTBers carry their extra water in a little pink shopping basket attached to the bars. and it's usually Midori and Lemonade premix, last time i looked.

what fool carries a loose water bottle on the underneath of the downtube on a MTB? covered in crud or fallen out after the first mile.

i've emptied two waterbottles and a 3 liter camelbak in about 5 hours in 80 degree weather last summer.

i bring my camelbak on every ride, i dont care if im planning a short outing, i like the security of being able to turn a quick ride into a lengthy excursion on the fly.

and even if i do ride for less than 2 hours i have to ride 12-14 miles (one way) on my bike to get from the state trails to my house,

i needs my water, i want plenty, and i likes it alot.
