Disc Brakes on Newton Gravity FS with no caliper attachment
2 Attachment(s)
Hi, I've got a Newton Gravity FS Mountain Bike. It's pretty old so it doesn't have the disc brake attachment holes. I had to replace my wheel about a month ago, and ended up getting a wheel with the disc attachment for disc brakes from REI. Now that I have that, I am interested in upgrading from V-brakes to disc brakes.
Now, there is an attachment point on the frame, but it is a lot smaller than the normal disc brake mounts. I'm trying to figure out what kind of adapter I will need to buy. I found something on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Bike-Rear-Di...3286.m20.l1116. Will that ebay item work on my bike (see attached pictures), or if not, do you guys have any recommendations? Thanks! |

No need to have special disc hub - fits most brands on the market |

That's for a rack and panniers
It's a similar disc brake converter to this one: http://www.therapycomponents.com/conversion.htm and another similar converter from different brand: http://www.woodmancomponents.com/catalog/categorie.php?cat=dis&lang=en Some Kona bikes have this type of attachment on them: Kona D.O.P.E. System: http://www.konaworld.com/dope.htm Kona Stinky with D.O.P.E. System: http://www.konaworld.com/09_stinkydeluxe_en.cfm |
Oh...I mis-read the post. I didn't even notice his link. DOH!
I thought he was talking about the "double hole" tabs on the frame. |
