Sell the whole thing or get a frame?
So I have a dilemma. My bike which I have loved has gotten too small. I am 6'2 and have a 19" KHS alite 4000 bike I built up. So I am wondering if I should sell the whole thing if I can get a decent price or keep everything and get a new frame.
Here are the specs Wheels: XT hubs (750) Mavic X517 rims Tires: Maxxis Hard Drive Kevlar Fork: Rock Shox Pyslo SL (first or second year) Headset: Chris King Pretty and Strong No threadset Stem: Race Face Evolve XC Handle Bar: Easton Monkey Lite Carbon riser Shifters: XT Rapidfire (750) Brake Levers: Avid Speed Dial 7 Brakes. Avid Arch rival Derailer: Front XT (FD739) Rear XTR (RD952) Crankset: XTR (M952) BB: 68mm XTR (B952) Cassette: XT (750) Chain: HG 73? Seatpost: 27.2mm Easton EC70 Carbon Seat: Crap So what do you think I could get for it and should I keep it or sell it? Everything is in nice shape no dents low miles especially the XTR, Easton, Chris king. Shoot if I could find a cheap 21" Alite 4000 frame that would be great. If I should just get a frame, anyone have some cheap ideas. I don't need full suspension. thanks |
If you like you're components, I'd buy the frame and swap. Something to consider: I think you're current wheelset is rim brake specific. If you're going to go disc, now is the time to factor that in. BTW, those are my ATF rims. I've decided to convert my 517s to disc hubs and go with Avid mechanicals.

Yep, the hubs are rim only as of right now. Never really had any issues with my v-brakes. I do love the components.

6'2" and a 19" is too small???
You got a smurf torso with a 40" inseam? |
No, but it used to be fine. Then I had a couple of knee surgeries. I took it out a month ago for the first time in a while and went on a 20 mi ride (paved) ride and I couldn't even pedal back cause my knee hurt so much. I could raise the seat a little but it is pretty high right now.
Just checking my options. |
