One thing that will always be a constant.

Regardless of bike, there is usually one thing that you won't venture away from, what is it?

For all of the stuff I change between the only brand I really don't wonder away from and have no desire to either is E.Thirteen Every bike I have had since 2003 has had an Evil/E13 supercharger on it. The other thing here is a Thomson Elite Seat post.

8 speed. Always.

Except the road bike, of course.

Sixty Fiver 02-26-09 12:48 AM

Steel.

Preferably Reynolds.

dminor 02-26-09 12:56 AM

Probably an RST fork. Another seems to be FSA cranks. I like other brands but I can never seem to get past the solid, rock-bottom value that they are.

Abneycat 02-26-09 01:43 AM

Steel!

Oh, but not high tensile steel. Or any other steel which is pretty much a recycled washing machine.

Nice steel, y'know?

TwinCam 02-26-09 04:01 AM

Im having a hell of a time letting coil springs go.

TwinCam 02-26-09 04:04 AM

Oh right. Flat pedals. Sticking with em until i die i think.

Pocko 02-26-09 05:30 AM

Avid Juicy

Odessey Twisted Platforms (alloy)

XO trigger and derailleur

ODI Lock-on Grips.

SRAM Gold-link chain connector

The rest, I'm not fussed...

.

rbrsddn 02-26-09 06:31 AM

My Ti frame. 10 years and still going.

ed 02-26-09 07:23 AM

I've been happy with Shimano Hollowtech II cranksets, and Hope Pro II hubs. As long as the land of milk and honey delivereth, I'll be loving Kenda tires. WTB Rocket V saddles have been great for the last couple-3 yrs.

The biggest thing though has to be the HT2 crankset.

Edit: Scratch all that crap...the one thing that will always be a constant is that I'll break crap.

btjzx6rr 02-26-09 08:34 AM

so far, only thing thats constant,

I AIN"T PAYING RETAIL!

;)

santiago 02-26-09 08:41 AM

I love, love, love the Shimano XTR (960) cranks I have and can't see myself moving away from anything similar (Hollowtech II as Chelboed stated).

My other constant is that I'll always be a chicken-**** clumsy hack.

junkyard 02-26-09 08:56 AM

My superior physical conditioning. Oh, and my jerky attitude.

mtnbiker66 02-26-09 08:58 AM

Lock on grips.

S.D.XC 02-26-09 09:30 AM

my cyclometer.

it's the only thing i could think of...

Ka_Jun 02-26-09 11:03 AM

Injured shins.

born2bahick 02-26-09 11:07 AM

The only thing constant across my bikes are the peadles/peddles/paddles/petals/pedals

sirtigersalot 02-26-09 11:35 AM

giro helmets, gotta love the roclock

lock on grips (odi) and extermal bb (at least on my good bikes)

there's alot of other stuff I like, ie fox, juicys, sram shifters, mavic, but i wouldn't say i'd never ride somthin else

oh how bout 6 bolt rotors, boo down with centerlock

M_S 02-26-09 12:23 PM

Pneumatic tires.

SRAM powerlink.

mcoine 02-26-09 02:00 PM

in almost 20 years.. not much.

in the last 15.. grip shift, bolt on skewers, something anodized, and except for cassettes.. as few shimano parts as possible.

frankenmike 02-26-09 04:58 PM

ATAC pedals, thomson seatpost, wtb saddle, sram cassette- RD- and chain, race face cranks, gripshift. Everything else is negotiable.

FrederickH 02-26-09 05:06 PM

XTR (when I can afford it) or XT, always.

ca7erham 02-26-09 05:06 PM

I dont think I'll ever leave sram.

yeah dude, sram has impressed me everytime i've used something with thier logo on it.... i cant say the same for shimano, infact i've been disappointed more times than impressed.

Zephyr11 02-26-09 07:43 PM

I've been really impressed with X.0 shifters, as they're better than anything I've ever used from Shimano, so I'll probably always use SRAM shifters/RD. And I'll never go to 29ers (I'm too short, and wouldn't want to give up the flickability anyway), so I guess 26 inch wheels will be a constant for me (though I'd gladly trade my 26 DJ for a 24). I doubt I'll ever move away from riser bars, even if flat bars make a comeback. And Fox helmets...best fitting lid I've ever worn.
