Neither Specialized nor Trek are really allowed to be sold online. Ebay would be a good place to check, but you will probably only find used.

Nicollet Bike hooked me up with a good deal on my road bike. Check their inventory and send them an email about what you like and see if you can work out a deal.

There are some bike shops in nearby towns, according to my 5 minutes of research. A Specialized dealer in Haines approximately 46 miles from you. Just use the bike manufacturers' websites to find the dealers closest to you, as I just did. Might be worth a drive to get what you need, and of course you can call them up first to tell them your situation.

Yikes, I have to take the ferry to Haines, so it looks like eBay is my best bet. I'll post a link to a bike I see on eBay to check if it's a good idea to bid on it. Thanks.

I dunno what everyone in this forum thinks of Diamondback, but i got my '04 Outlook for $200 even. I'm not even sure if the Outlook is considered a serious mtn. bike or not, but it seems to be somewhat durable...if it can take my rather massive self without breaking curb hopping (I weighed 255 when i got the bike...228 now)...then to me it's at least tough :)

Given I would upgrade some of the parts if I knew more about how the parts work (namely drivetrain), and the plastic pedals were first to go, but I still think that was one of the better times I've spent that kind of cash.

BTW, a link for you all

Pacific Cycle also owns Mongoose and Schwinn....so they might not have screwed up GT as bad as some of you may have feared, considering i haven't heard anything bad about Schwinn.

I have an 04 outlook and in my opinion is one great bike for $200 new.

I really didn't like their choice in rear derailers, but at that price, can't really complain :)
