AM wheelset - which one?
 

I'm on the market for a new set of AM wheels.
Hope Hoops Pro2 with DT Ex5.1d goes for $315 (R + F)
Easton AM Havoc Wheel Set goes for $375

Which one is better choice to put on my Gary Fisher HiFi?
Pros and Cons?

Other than that - to answer the OP's question, the Havoc is a pretty burly wheelset by all accounts, but apparently weigh a bit more than advertised. The Hope Hoops are a good wheelset as well, have about the same width of rim and are slightly lighter. Hope rear hubs are louder than the Easton.

Wiggle has the 2008 Havoc for $375.

The difference between 2008 and 2009 is that the 2009 has ceramic bearings.

Ooo ceramic bearings, won't they disintegrate if you get them in mud?

Even better...who the crap is building Hope Pro II / EX5.1d's for $315???

Ahhhh...Champions...I wonder what a substitute for butted spokes would be.
