Sidi Dominator 5 Fit

I just received these shoes and wanted to ask you guys about fit. I usually wear a size 14 shoe so I got size 50. I'm not sure if they're narrow, standard etc. I experience a bit of slipping in the heel when I walk. My toes feel perfect. The ratchet strap is ratcheted all the way and I can still SQUEEZE my finger under the strap. I suppose I should wait to use them on the bike before I come to any conclusions but wanted to see what you guys thought. They feel almost perfect but the slipping makes me a bit nervous. The walls of the shoe hug the sides of my feet well. I'm wearing old, thin socks so maybe some thicker cycling socks would make a difference?

Thanks for any insight.

I prefer my shoes a little snug (think firm handshake). Cycling socks are usually pretty thin. They sound like they're too big...could you try half a size smaller for comparison's sake?

Well, I bought these used for 175.00. Guy had worn them for 15 minutes on a trainer. Best I could do would be to sell them and buy another pair. I THINK these will work and want to try them on the bike first. Thanks.

Problem solved. Didn't realize that the ratchet strap was adjustable.
