Last time i used a bicycle was back in 1993.
I am addicted to various cardio exercises (swimming, hicking, jogging) now and am considering to buy myself a bike. It will also help me keep up with my son when he is using his
I cant find a good one where i live. Someone living a few blocks away is selling the bike in pic for around 315 USD. I went to bikepedia but can not find this particular rocky mountain unless i know the year and the name of model. Please help identify the bike and share your thoughts.

its a bit steep, the fork looks to be an upgrade from 2001 or 2002 ask if he will take 250 cash.
you could do worse but it is still almost 10 YEARS! old so it might be a better idea to look for a local bike shop and spend 400 to 500 and get some dsc brakes and way better wheels and components.
The upside of going to a shop is getting a bike that FITS !

I take back that earlier id saying that it looks like it might be a 1998 Element Race as it looks more like the 2000 Spice:
