Chicago/Palos FS or Hardtail?

I'm looking to purchase a mtbike to ride in the Palos area of Chicago with an occasional trip up to S. Kettle Morraine.

Are most riders at Palos on FS or hardtail? I'm not looking to race or do extreme riding.

Thanks.

Joel

People ride all types of bikes at Palos and Kettle. I've seen everything from a fully rigid singlespeed to a 6"+ FS bike.

I personally think that a hardtail is all you need for either location.
