Back to xc riding in 09' Need some help/advice. Any Rocky Mountain Vertex owners?!
 

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but not new to cycling, although I've been out of the "market" for the past 5 years or so. Before I stopped biking I raced XC in the EFTA (new england) series and had the following rig:

Using an old rockhopper (I think) frame, this one was a very "random" bike, although I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I'm now looking to get back riding again, and would like to determine the adequate bike.

I already have an idea of what I want, and was hoping for opinions or perhaps alternate suggestions.

I've been looking at the Rocky Mountain Vertex 50. Since they don't have pricing on the site, I've called numerous bike shops and heard from 1900 to 2700 dollars msrp. Which one is it??

Anything else around this same price range with comparable component package?

Does anybody here have a Vertex? Please post your opinions!
