I'f you have a warrenty issue with a new bike, how long is reasonable to fix a leaking fork and lost rebound damper. I have a family member that bought a new bike last month, it's been in the shop for 3 weeks. He's pissed, they keep telling him "the part isn't in from rock shox".
I'm tired of the BS, I lost my ridding buddy. I would loan him a bike, but he's way too-big.

So what's your theory? That the part really is in from Rock Shox but the shop is not installing it just because they're dicks?

Sometimes it can take forever to get stuff back from manufacturers though I've never worked with Rockshox specifically. Relax man they should be getting it in any time now and you'll have your riding buddy back.

Warranty conditions are interpreted by four things:
1. Written term
a. Literal
b. policy/verbal maxims
2. Course of Performance
3. Course of Dealing
4. Usage of trade

Warranty must be completed with in a reasonable amount of time of the industry. Find the warranty information and read it, should say something.

I've read the warranty info. I can't find anything about time.
Me and my cousin bought bikes the same day. His bike failed after 5 days. I think it was leaking from the get go, because I remember seeing oil on the fork.

The bike had never been on the trail. We decided to stop buy the bike shop after a short day of road riding, and noticed the rebound adjustment was missing. We went in on Saturday, and they said it would be ready on Wednesday. He has been very polite with the shop, and just calling to get updates.

He's thinking about using a different bike shop, but doesn't know how that might work out. The bike was put in the shop before he had a chance to register his bike with in the 10 days the manufacture (specialized) has given. He said he forgot, hows that gonna turn out if he uses another shop and etc...

Well, it's been 4 weeks no parts from rock shox yet (per LBS). I feel bad because I talked him into getting a bike, it's his first hobby grade bike. He had been riding a wal-mart mongoose. He said the bike worked great for 4 years with no issues, it was stolen.

Anyhow, thanks for the help.
