Purchased a Gary Fisher Piranha with disc breaks for the wife last year. She like it. Very good handling bikes and has taken everything she has thrown at it with no problems. She liked the G2 geometry. Her only regret is that she wishes now she went with a full suspension...but she likes the bike and it rides well considering price point (729 dollars).

I went with an '08 HiFi last year. Freakin' love it. I've never had a bike fit as well as this and I plan to ride it into the ground. I work for a fitness supplier that just became a Fuji dealer, my boss wants me to ride Fuji. That's fine but I will not get rid of my Fisher, I'm just too happy with it.

If you search my other posts on here you will see several opinions on the brand. At present I own 4 of them. Thats the only MTN bike I will own. "Until I can afford the really pricey and custom bikes" Most Fisher Frames are built like tanks, the hardtails can not be destroyed. I have heard of some problems with the older HI-Fi's though, but that is a full suspension bike. If you do go with a hardtail, just keep in mind everything from the Tarpon on up to the Tassajara use the exact same frame. Its just a matter of what you can afford, the more the better of course. The Marin is a small step up from entry level, decent bike. The other big difference between Fishers and other brands is the top tubes on Fishers tend to be longer. Gives you more of a stretched out feel. Some people like that others don't. If it feels right go for it.

I used to have since 2001 a Specialized S Works a normal 26 mtb, i did a lot of research and i had for a couple of days a GF paragon 29, and i decide on going to the 29 option, is faster up hill down hill and much much more on plane road, i choose the GF Superfly maybe the more expensive, Paragon it cost half the price thats a perfect bike itīs arround $2,200 U.S Dlls

I have a Tass that I picked up off Craigslist. Pretty good bike...fork was crap, but at that pricepoint, most are. Other than that, it was spec'ed pretty nicely. As I got more experience riding more bikes though, I realized that the geometry isn't for me. Too racy and aggressive.
