Need opinions on Tektro’s Auriga Comp

I am looking into the 09 Specialized Rockhopper Expert Disc; however, am only hesitant about the brake component- Tektro’s Auriga Comp. Any opinions/ experience with these brakes? I will be using them mostly for XC purposes.

i would say they are crap (like all brakes in that price range), but it all comes down to standards, those brakes will stop you, but not as well as bb7s or juicys, they also won't fell as nice, but price is a factor, and if the bike came with juicys it would cost more, you can however find bb7s for not to much money and switch em out if you find them not to your liking,

what did u think of em on ur testride

They aren't great, but it's not like you'll squeeze the lever and nothing will happen.

I've only had experience with Shimano mechs, tektro mechs, Hayes hydrualics and BB7's and they all stop you pretty much the same. The difference comes down to feel at the lever and ease of use/setup, personally I like the feel of hydros but I chose tektro mechs with speed dial seven levers for the best combination of feel and price. Unless you have previous experience with an expensive top level systems like juicys or BB7s you wont notice the difference
Mmmmmm, shiney.
