ok, so I have owned my bike for a few years now and haven't had any issues with the tires previously.

now, I usually store it in a shed outside as I have before.
so, when I pulled it out for the first time this season the tires were deflated, which I would say is normal do to the cold weather. I filled them up and rode it for a bit and put it back in the shed to ride again the next day.

so, here is the issue. the next day the tires are deflated again. I did this like the last week of march, and I have done this before with never this result.
so, I inflated the tires again, the next day they were deflated again. it seems like every time I store the bike the tires deflate.

now, I have inflated the tires, gone biking on trails, all sorts of trails, once I had to go back to the car and inflate the rear tire but then it was fine. stored the bike, next day had to inflate tires again, took it out didn't have any issues.

so, what is causing the tires to deflate every day, but they hold out just fine when I am out biking??

so it wouldn't have anything to do with the air valve?

If the valve is bad, so will the tubes, unless its tubeless. In that case, and not trying to sound like an ass, you should take it to the LBS since this is an easy issue to resolve, and you had to ask in the first place. You should be able to change the tubes on your own tho, just find a online tutorial, there are literally thousands on changing tubes. Make sure you check the inside of the tiers for thorns and glass and other sharp objects first. That could be the culprit. If you had a small puncture at the end of last season, that would explain the low leak.

It may be over kill, but I change my tubes every year, around spring. Its not really the start of the "season" as I ride all winter long, but more of a spring checkup kinda thing.

Valves are part of the tube.
Get some new ones.

how about the valve stems?

I know with cars, this at times is a common small leak issue do to cold weather and being to physical when pumping air.

I find it weird how they can withstand a 2 hour rough ride and not lose any air, if it was a small leak wouldn't they just give out during the ride??

is it better to get the tubes online or at a lbs?

any suggestions on which tubes are better, in terms of being stronger?

^^ If you have a very small leak, it could take the whole ride to go, then leak out over the night. There cold be a very very very small hole. New tubes are only a couple bucks. And yes, its always better to buy from a LBS if you can. If you don't know how to change the tubes, take the bike there, and they should be able to show you how.

Could be. But as was stated earlier, unless you are running tubeless, if the valve stems are shot, so is the tube.
