My current BB is Bottom Bracket Truvativ BB-02, 113mm spindle, BB Shell Width 68mm English. What will fit? I am having trouble figuring this out. thx.

get an eccentric bb with a 68mm shell width.

I use the generic ones from QBP, they have a 68mm shell width.

I believe EBB diameters are standard.

My concern is the diameter of the eccentric BB's. I am doing a conversion on a 2004 26" MTB w/ disc brakes. Are all of the diameters the same? It looks like the hole in the frame for 29" are much bigger.

wait a minute, do you have an standard bb now and you wanna put in an eccentric one? I notice you have a hardrock conversion in your sig. If thats the case than no my knowlege you are SOL eccentric BBs are designed for eccentric BB frames, and standard frames can only take standard BB, if you wanna do a ss conversion to a standard frame and you don't wanna run a chain tensioner and you don't wanna ghetto rig it (filing ect) then your option is a white industries eno eccentric hub

I could be wrong but that was how i understood it to be

You can get an eccentric b/b kit from here. Cheaper than an eccentric hub, way more than a tensioner.

wow cool thing, but they talk about needing a 118 bb spindle that i don't see in the pics, and they talk about the bearings and races, this raises 2 questions, is it square taper only, and is it for a loose ball BB and you have to get a spindle? or is it for 2pc external bearing cranks, in which case how can you choose the spindle lenght?

From the site,

"Your crankset must have a 24mm spindle compatible with Shimano Hollowtech 2 bearings. If you are using a Shimano crankset, it must have a 188mm spindle, typically found on MTB cranksets. Road spindles may be too short. Cranksets with raised mounting holes for 'granny' chainrings are not compatible. If you do have a crankset with raised mounting holes for a granny chainring, you can have the mounting holes machined off or filed off."

That does limit things considerably.

ah well that answers my question, missed the part about shimano hollowtech 2, also they said 118 somwhere i imagine that the 188 was a typo (by the site not you that is)

as far as being limiting, well its for ss use, so you don't want a granny, and 15 bucks gets it cut off by them. also it was my understanding that u can't choose spindle lenght on that type of crankset, my road and mtn cranks look the same around the BB they start as soon as the bb ends (no visable axle like on square taper)

didn't look much cheeper than an eno hub to me assuming you need to build a new rear wheel anyway, but would solve the "i want and eno chris king hub" thing, CK and this bam top dollar SS

Good to know about this stuff... didn't know they existed. Could prove useful one day, one never knows.

yeah none of this stuff will work for me bc the opening in the frame for the current BB is too small

Read it again. The link above is to an eccentric BB that fits into a normal BB shell. The existence of such a thing is what surprised all the posters above. Myself included.
