BMX levers and v-brakes
Having a brain fart this morning. Would bmx levers work with v-brakes. Also, I know canti levers will not work with v's, but will v-levers work with canties? I do know this, but for some reason my brain has crapped out on me this morning, and can't remember.... TIA

Still kicking.
Back when I had a kona cowan and bb7's for a time I was using a set of Avid Ultimate levers that were from the days of cantilever brakes. Setup was a bit of a pain, but worked. With saying that, I don't think the setup was exactly ideal.

here's the basic compat guide:
Brakes and levers are either long-pull or short-pull
Long-pull stuff:
-v-brakes
-mini v-brakes for bmx
-most discs
-most mtb levers
-bmx levers that are clearly labeled as "long-pull"
-a very small number of road drop-bar levers, clearly labeled as "long-pull"
Short-pull stuff
-canti's
-u-brakes
-the handfull of disc brakes, such as some of the semi-recent avids, that are labeled "road", short pull compat, or sti-compat
-road calipers
I've seen lots of ppl do lots of weird things, and to a certain degree, anything is possible. But, it isn't recomended to mix 'em. With so many good and danged cheap mtb levers out there, why use bmx levers on your v-brakes? a pair of avid fr-5s cost like $12
