First, to the Mods, this isn't an advertising thread. As soon as you feel that my questions are answered adequately, go ahead and delete/lock the thread, if you so wish.

First, a little off topic, I measured the inside width of the tube on my frame for the headset and I got 33mm. Is this abnormal? Because the headsets I see are not for that size.

I'm building a bike up from a mountain bike frame that I have. So far I have acquired the front and rear ders., a set of two disc breaks (without cables), brake/shifting levers, and pedals.

So, can anyone give me a good estimate on what it would cost to finish it? I'm building it to go on light trails and just general urban riding.

Lastly, can someone recommend me a good website for me to get parts?

What kind of frame do you have? What about the other parts you already have? How much to you have in it so far? How much are you looking to spend total?

So you need a fork, headset, bars, stem, seat post, saddle, crank/bb, wheels/tires, chain and cassette. Am I missing anything?

You may have forgotten chainrings, unless in "crank" you meant crankset, then yeah, you got everything. And you'll probably want non-necessities; Grips, reflectors (where I am, it is illegal to ride in streets without), and bottle cages.

The frame is an '07 Fetish Cycles Discipline Frame, White.

The parts I have are Shimano Deore LX Front and Rear derailleur, Hayes 2004 "One" Disc Brakes front and rear, Sakae pedals, and Shimano Deore V-Brakes which are a combination of brakes and shifters.

Also, can anyone answer my question on the head tube width?

Does anyone know if it's illegal to ride in PA without reflectors?

And to answer the question 'how much have I put into it so far?" I have put into it nothing. I got the brand new $500 retail FC Frame and the parts from an old acquaintance. But I'm a broke kid, and I need to do some budgeting so that I can finish this bike.

By the way, you missed cables.

And my one V-Brake Shifter goes up 9 clicks, but I'm not seeing any 9-speed cassettes, any help?

You'll need a 9 speed cassette. What do you mean you don't see any? And I thought cables were included since they're hydraulic. And as for reflectors, keep in mind, that that is for riding in the road. If you only plan to off road with it/ride on sidewalks its fine. Try to find the PA bike laws.

Edit: It took me all of about 3 seconds to find that it is required. Though, I only have a rear on mine.

You'll have more problems riding in PA WITH reflectors. I'm known to push riders into poison ivy if I see a reflector on their bike. Ok, I can't really back that up but no, you won't get into any trouble riding without them.

jenson is KILLER on shipping if you're outside of the states. I want to order a part that fits in a regular envelope, 10$ part, 20$ shipping. **** them.

I like pricepoint and competitivecyclist.com. competitive SEEMS expensive, but it's only 'cause they sell top notch stuff. their prices are quite reasonable - cheaper than pricepoint sometimes!

I'm on Nashbar's mailing list, good bathroom reading, but primarily stick to pricepoint and chainlove (backcountry discount pop-ups) b/c of price and good user feedback. Order something from Nashbar and you will start getting flyers from 'colorado cyclist' which has some insane stuff to drool over.

Price point wants to charge me 75 shipping... to an American Post Office box, for a 2 brake levers and a couple tools.

I guess they both have over whelming S/H charges

Don't buy from jenson if the item is backordered, otherwise they're great. I've also had a bad experience with BeyondBikes.com, where they take their sweet time to ship things, though both times I bought at excellent prices.

UniversalCycles has been good too. If you're looking around on ebay I would recommend a seller named Abaxo above all others.... while they charge a fair bit for shipping, I have ordered 3 times and gotten my parts in 2 days each time after them being shipped extremely quickly.
