Thanks for the replies. After doing more research and posting on some other forums, I believe this may be an '06 frame.
My plans are to put a front shock and 26" wheels and go urban thrashing with my son.
I want to run single speed and have questions about how to achieve the best chain line as possible.
Thank you.

its got horizontal drop outs so you shouldnt need a tensioner.
are you going to buy a single speed wheel or wheel with a normal casette hub?
i also recomend surly tugnut chain tugs, they are the only chain tugs that i've used that work well.

Thanks for the post Lebowski.
I was planning on purchasing a single speed rear wheel/wheelset. Been looking on CL and eBay for a good deal. As far as chain tensioners go, I have quite a collection of those that I've used on various fixed gear applications. Hopefully one of them will work for me.

on both my single speeds i just used the middle ring on my crank set and bought a spacer kit for the rear.
