Wow.

I have heard stuff out west is technical but I never thought they would let leaves just be on the trail like that. thats slippery stuff. Plus the drop from the trail to the sand is super sketchy. sketchilicious really. Almost as bad as the 'goat trail' pics from years back

Are we talking north or south of the border?

Please be aware that there are new US passport regulations even if you cross the border by car. Most Canadians that travel already have passports but I know that the percentage of passport holding United Statians is a lot lower than Canadians. If you are American and think of going to Canada, get your passport now! (There are alternatives such as Enhanced Driving Licenses that cost less than passports but these are only valid at land-based border crossings.)

Tell me about it! I'm heading up your way to visit a friend in Montreal at the end of August and I need to get a passport to do it! I grew up in Buffalo, and spending a day in Canada was no big deal. "Purpose of your visit? How long will you be here? Have a nice day." That was it.

I could get an enhanced license, but it costs ~$80. Might as well get the passport. Now to find my original birth certificate.....
