New boots as in tires? Those look like older Specialized tires. Control/Master tires?

I thought the Team tires had the red stripe along the sidewalls. Yellow were Comp tires?

Stock except a Sram X7 39/26 chainset and Nobby Nics.

Photo taken 300ft from my house in Stockholm, Sweden. If I donīt feel like going far I have this funny little loop thatīs about half a mile long with some really technical, rocky and rooty parts.

craigcraigcraig 11-15-11 10:05 AM

This bike been featured many times on the hybrid forum and refered to as a hybrid for being made up of parts from all aspects of cycling.
I thought another group of people might like a look for something different. I'll call it a franken bike for the MTB forum.

Just a quick sum of parts.
JBC 26er carbon frame.
Spinergy 29er wheels.
FSA energy 50-34 road crank, Ultegra derailler.
XTR 11-32 cassette, XT rear derailler.
Karbona carbon Cyclocross forks.
XT duel control brake/shifters.
Depending on where I ride tyres are changed between Schwalbe 35c sammy slicks or Vittoria corsa evo 23c road slicks.
Weight 8.1 kg.

Yeah, it looks cool and is pretty light BUT...

wear padded cycling shorts when you ride it. It's like riding on a cheese grater with street clothes.

Me thinks you need a chain tensioner or you'll keep dropping the chain in the rough stuff.

lucifuge 12-11-11 02:38 AM

yeppers! I adjusted it after posting. cheers

Okay, I have always wondered this, but why do those freestyle mtb's (or whatever they're classified as) only have a disc in the rear with nothing up front (or just a rim brake)?
