Starting New Build Up
Hey guys,
Some have seen I just got into MTB after being a road biker for years now, which I still have. Since I will be slowly creating a new and better MTB that I have now; I want to start grabbing some new parts. first: Can someone post a link to some sites that sell frames? I just can't seem to find the right place. Second, since this is going to be a build up as I am gathering more parts I will be putting them on my old MTB until I get the frame for me. Now my question is I want hydraulic brakes, which is a good manufacturer that is also reasonably priced? I found 2008 Avid Juicy 7 Seven Hydraulic Disc Brake and they seem to look great. |
I really like this frame a lot. http://cgi.ebay.com/GT-Force-1-Mount...ht_2534wt_1165

Yah...that's a great frame.
Juicy 7's are nice brakes. |
Price range? Material? Suspended?

Do you own or have you ridden this bike? Does look nice, I've never seen one in person though. |
Well price range is hard to determine since I will be purchasing products and installing them on my mountain bike and around christmas time I will have the frame by then. I am looking to go with a full suspension MTB. Material wise I would say anything that is light and affordable.
If this helps I want to go with a good middle of the road products with a solid frame and brakes. Thats all I need. Anyone have a good front suspension in mind for that frame also, how universal are most of these products? |

OP-
That GT frame is $700. How much money do you think you will have spent by the time it is built up? So, you want to gather up Juicy 7's and other parts for the build, but in the mean time try to hang them on a $250 Walmart bike? Do you have the mechanical ability to do all this? |

I actually prefer this one over those two.

This photo just begs for a BSNYC photo edit to account for the mystery finger holding the front of the frame.

Have you checked out Sette Frames? Depending on what you want, there is pretty much something for every budget. I ride a Reken, which the frame its self only costs 80 dollars.

The GT is a 6 inch travel all-mountain frame. It is a good deal for a nice frame, but whether it willl work for you depends on your terrain and riding style.
